What To Do If You're Not Where You Want To Be In Life.

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

My biggest challenge has always been feeling disappointed for not being where I wanted to be. To me that means having a successful business, a title, a number of clients, being well known. This often brought me despair and feelings of inadequacy. This still happens, don't get me wrong. Wow, well, what a waste of time and energy. This often lead me to wishful thinking and being unproductive. I would avoid the work, and instead go for something easy like hang out and lounge all day with friends, travel, shop, browse the net, etc. I'm not saying that it is wrong to lounge and have a social life. But when you have long term goals, there's work to be done everyday. Success doesn't happen over night. That's not to say that where ever you are, you are already successful. The goal is not to stop contributing to our long term goal everyday.

Do professionals stop practicing once they've reached their goals? Absolutely not. For instance, if you want to be an inspirational leader, and you give someone advice today. Then you have made a difference in someone's life, and have contributed to your long term goal. It might not seem like a lot, but over time you will see that was needed to get you where you needed to go.

If you are clear of your goals, be sure you're contributing to them everyday. To become familiar with something it is said that it takes 10,000 hours! That means that you should be practicing what you want to achieve everyday! Little Reminders: -We're already where we need to be even if we don't feel like we are -Contribute to your long term goal everyday. Nothing is too small or too big -Success doesn't happen over night. It takes practice, time, dedication, work! -Don't be afraid to start somewhere even if you don't feel prepared, you will develop the skills along the way -Be clear of your long term goals so that your everyday contributions can get you there -Be selective on how you want to spend your time!
