In Times Of Self-Doubt

I wrote this in 2018:

You think you have a clear idea of what it is that you are passionate about.  Then all of the sudden you begin getting thoughts such as

"Do I even like this?"

"Why is it taking forever to see results?"

"Maybe this isn't for me"

Those thoughts seem real why wouldn't you listen to them, "stop what you're doing", "quit", and take a position you recognize that is stable and comfortable.

I want to cry out of frustration, why am I getting these thoughts now when it took me a while to figure out what it is that I'm passionate about.  Why am I having these thoughts now when I have momentum.  It also doesn't help that I'm getting "No's" left and right. What am I doing wrong?! God, Help me! These are the conversations I have in my head from time to time. Some days it's more intense than others.

To my entrepreneur gurus in times of self doubt the best thing to do is to look at your BIG WHY and looking at the end in mind:

Why are you doing this?

Is it contributing to others?

Is it aligned with a higher purpose?

Have you had a time to sit down and reflect?

Take a few days off

Go on a meditation retreat

Surround yourself with those who are doing what you Love

My big WHY is clear to me, it is my body that is resisting, the ego wants to win and find something that I'm used to because it is too dangerous to risk the unknown.

In these times I find comfort when I listen to podcasts such as "How I built This". It also helps to take a few days off. Pray. Meditate. Eat good foods. I also find comfort when I reach out to my entrepreneur wellness friends. I know I'm not the only crazy one having these self-doubt thoughts when they tell me that they too have these thoughts.

I know that it will also be ok if I discover that perhaps this is not something I want to do.  There are endless amount of ideas and opportunities for me.

If you feel that you are struggling with this please feel free to reach out. I can assist you with some guidance and some tools that have helped me.

I wrote this two years ago!Wow! It is August 2nd, 2020 and I am getting ready to open my first juice bar in Merced, CA. Here’s how I discovered my purpose:

I did a lot of self-reflection, I took personality tests, I attended a lot of wellness workshops, I learned what my strengths were because I didn’t really know what they were at the time. It took some work, but it was worth it because it helped me discover my purpose. We are meant to be living in our purpose, knowing that we have a purpose will make us feel a lot more happier!

1.)Know Your Strengths: how can we know what we like if we don’t know our strengths? Make a list of your strengths. If you don’t know them ask your close friends and family to point them out to you.

2.)Know Your Core Values: Now this is important! Everything we do in life should align with our core values. What do you believe in? For example, family time, God, integrity, honesty, etc.  Every decision we make should align with our core values.

3.)What is your passion? This one may come naturally to you, or it may take some work to discover it. What do you spend most of your time on when browsing the net? What can you spend a countless amount of hours without keeping track? What did you enjoy doing when you were a child?

4.)Start planning, create a vision board for yourself, write out a mission statement for your life.

As I mentioned earlier I am happy to assist if you are in the midst of trying to discover your purpose. Trust me I’ve been there.
